West Palm Beach Area Boat Crash Kills FWC Employee and Injures Two Others
CBS12.com reports that a boat crash in the West Palm Beach area has left one civilian employee with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) dead and two others hospitalized.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the C-51 canal when the boat in which the victims were riding crashed into a concrete piling under the Congress Avenue eastbound ramp. A woman who was traveling in the boat was severely injured in the crash and died from her injuries. Two other people were injured, including one person who was thrown into the water and another person who was piloting the boat. Authorities say that these victims are expected to survive.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the tragedy. They currently have not released information about what the victims were doing in the canal or what they believe the cause of the crash may be.
