U.S. Coast Guard Medevacs Man from Cruise Ship
The U.S. Coast Guard medically evacuated a man from a cruise ship off the North Carolina Coast on Monday, as the ship was about 60 miles from Cape Hatteras.
According to a communication from the cruise ship, the man was sailing aboard the Royal Caribbean ship Anthem of the Seas when he began showing signs of suffering from internal bleeding. Ship officials called the Coast Guard for urgent help.
Wsoctv.com reports that the Coast Guard scrambled a helicopter from Air Station Elizabeth City which then evacuated the man from the ship, along with his wife and a doctor.
The victim was taken to Greenville, North Carolina’s Vident Medical Center. His condition is currently unknown.
