U.S. Coast Guard Evacuates Sick Passenger From Cruise Ship off North Carolina Coast
The U.S. Coast Guard evacuated a man from a cruise ship sailing off the North Carolina coast on Monday afternoon.
WITN.com reports that the Coast Guard evacuated the victim from the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship as it sailed about 40 miles off the southeast coast of Hatteras. The rescuers, from a base in Elizabeth City, transported the victim to General Hospital in Morehead City for further treatment.
Authorities have not identified the man and had not released information relating to his condition. Publised reports indicate that the victim was likely suffering from an appendicitis.
