Minutes after the call first responders arrived to the scene to find the deceased victim.
In a statement, the department said “The child’s family was located at the residence, and we are working with them to determine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death, as well as to ensure support services are provided to them as well as anyone impacted by this tragic situation.”
Police took the opportunity to remind the public that for children between ages one and four drowning is a leading cause of death.
