Two Teens Killed in Serious Crash after Reportedly Running Red Light
Two Florida teens were killed in a serious crash in Riverview, Florida yesterday.
Patch.com reports that the crash occurred Wednesday in Riverview, Hillsborough County. An 18-year-old was driving a Honda on Valley Dale Drive and reportedly ran a red light, crossing the intersection at Progressive Boulevard. As the Honda ran the red light it stuck a Ford 250 which was traveling westbound on Progressive Boulevard.
The impact of the collision killed the Honda’s diver and the car’s 15-year-old passenger. Both teens died at the scene of the crash, while the driver of the truck was reportedly unharmed.
In a statement, quoted by Patch.com, Sheriff Chad Chronister extended his condolences to the teens’ families and said, “This is the third traffic accident this month where teens have lost their lives. We urge parents to talk to their teens about safety on the roadways and remind our young drivers to be cautious and fully aware of the responsibility that lies in their hands the moment they get behind the wheel. One bad decision can lead to tragedy.”
