Two Dead Following Collision Involving Stranded Motorists Pushing Vehicle
Two people are dead following a tragic traffic accident involving stranded motorists in Jacksonville.
News4Jax.com reports that the crash occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday morning when a vehicle became stranded in the center lane of 1-295 southbound north of Wilson Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol a Good Samaritan joined the driver and passenger of the disabled vehicle in pushing the vehicle out of traffic when the vehicle was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The collision killed the disabled vehicle’s passenger and the Good Samaritan. Both died at the scene.
The driver of the disabled vehicle and the driver of the vehicle that collided with it both survived the crash, suffering minor injuries.
Ken Jefferson with News4Jax recommended that drivers use the utmost caution when suffering a breakdown on a highway. “The best thing to do if you see your car about to be disabled or breaking down, try to get to the shoulder of the road,” he said.
