Two Bicyclists Killed by SUV on Ridenbacher Causeway
Two cyclists were killed while riding their bikes in Miami on Sunday.
WSVN.com reports that a man and woman cyclist were riding along the Ridenbacher Causeway at about 5 p.m. Sunday when an SUV struck the pair, destroying their bikes and leaving both of them fatally injured.
#DEVELOPING – Two bicyclists have been killed in a crash near the Rickenbacker Causeway toll plaza in Miami. One person has been detained for questioning. The causeway has reopened with a traffic counterflow to allow inbound and outbound traffic.

The force of the impact damaged the front end of the SUV and smashed its windshield.
Gabriel Meneses, who witnessed the crash, said “You see bicyclists every day, and you hope they stay safe, but unfortunately, you also see cars going really fast up and down the bridge.”
Police detained the SUV’s driver for questioning following the crash.
Police have yet to determine whether to cite or charge the driver, and continue to investigate the tragedy.
