Train Collides with SUV in Pompano Beach
An SUV and a train collided in Pompano Beach Friday morning.
Local10.com reports that a woman was driving the SUV and crossing the train tracks in the vicinity of East Copans Road and North Dixie Highway when the train struck the vehicle at about 4 a.m.
Witnesses say that the vehicle was totaled in the collision but that the driver did not seem to be harmed.
A witness told Local 10 “I just ran to her and I tried to see if she was OK, but she was looking at me like she didn’t know what was going on.”
A Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed that the woman was not injured in the collision and indicated that the crash is currently under investigation.
