Teen Man Missing from Fishing Vessel in Jacksonville Area
The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a teenage man who fell from a commercial fishing vessel Thursday morning.
FirstCoastNews.com reports that the man fell from a 30-foot crabbing boat in the vicinity of Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville. At about 8 a.m. Thursday an off-duty police officer notified the Coast Guard of an unmanned fishing vessel that was going in circles. The Coast Guard responded by launching a 29-foot response boat to search for the missing man, and sent a broadcast to boaters in the area to keep a lookout.
The report indicates that Florida Fish and Wildlife, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection all joined in the search. Crews searched for the missing man throughout the day and as of yet there has been no indication that they have found him.
