Stolen Infinity Strikes Bicyclist as Police Chase
Five minors fleeing from the police in a stolen vehicle were involved in a serious crash Wednesday evening.
Local10.com reports that the incident occurred at about 7:00 a.m. when officers responded to a burglary in the vicinity of 2200 block of Northeast 28th Avenue in Broward County. Police believe that the suspects were attempting to steal a vehicle from a residence when police arrived, leading to the chase.
As the suspects fled police they allegedly struck a bicyclist at the intersection of Sistrunk Boulevard and Northwest 27th Avenue and continued to flee the scene. First responders took the bicyclist to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The chase ended at approximately 8:00 a.m. when the stolen Infinity in which the suspects were traveling clipped two vehicles, causing the driver to lose control, turning the QX60 on its roof.
