Scooter Rider Dead After Homestead Hit-and-Run
A man riding a scooter died after being involved in a traffic collision on Sunday.
Local10.com reports that the victim was riding a scooter in the vicinity of Krome Avenue and Southwest 14th Street at about 3:32 a.m. when the vehicle struck him.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the man fled the scene, in violation of Florida law. When first responders arrived at the scene they found the scooter driver had already died. The subject was reportedly a 36-year-old white man.
Authorities believe that the vehicle that struck the victim was a dark-colored pickup truck with a ladder rack and after-market wheels. The vehicle may have suffered damage in the crash
Miami-Dade Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
