Report: Cruise Ship Brawl Breaks Out Involving Passenger in Clown Suit
Various news outlets are reporting that a cruise ship passenger, dressed as a clown, was involved in a “massive brawl” in the restaurant area of a cruise ship recently.
FoxNews.com reports that the melee aboard the P&O Britannia cruise ship left at least six people with “significant bruising and cuts.” Three of the victims were women and one was a staff member.
Apparently, the brawl broke out after at least one passenger took exception to the clown outfit. At the time of the incident the ship was conducting a black-tie event which involved alcoholic drinks.
Journalist Richard Gaisford, of Good Morning Britain, was aboard the ship when the melee broke out and reported “One witness, part of a group involved in the trouble, explained to staff that things kicked off when another passenger appeared dressed as a clown. This upset one of their party because they’d specifically booked a cruise with no fancy dress. It led to a violent confrontation.”
FoxNews.com reports that a man and woman, both of Essex, England, were arrested on suspicion of assault when the ship returned to port.
