Police Seek Driver Who Fled Scene of Crash with School Bus
A vehicle was involved in a crash with a school bus on Monday, but instead of stopping as required by law the driver reportedly fled the scene.
FirstCoastNews.com reports that the Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a blue vehicle that was stopped on the grassy shoulder of SR-100 near Orange Park Avenue in Jacksonville on Monday afternoon. When the vehicle pulled out of the grass into the eastbound lane of SR-100 the bus crashed into the back of it. The vehicle was reportedly going at a slow rate of speed as it merged onto the road.
After the crash, the vehicle fled the scene. The bus driver was unable to obtain information about the car such as its make, model, or license plate.
No one was reported injured in the crash.
Police are asking any witnesses to assist them in locating the driver who fled the crash scene.
