Pickup driver killed in multi-vehicle accident on Don Shula Expressway
MIAMI, FL – A teenage driver was killed when his pickup truck was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on the Don Shula Expressway last weekend, the Miami Herald reported.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the 17-year-old driver collided with a Hyundai on the highway, then lost control of the pickup and crashed into a Honda.
The teen’s vehicle hit a guardrail and overturned, and he was thrown from the truck’s cab. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. The other two drivers sustained minor injuries.
The southbound lanes of State Road 874 were closed for about six hours following the accident.
