News: Wrong-way driver killed in collision with truck in Southwest Ranches
SOUTHWEST RANCHES, FL – A driver going the wrong way in Broward County was killed in a collision Sunday morning, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The accident happened on U.S. 27 near Griffin Road in Southwest Ranches sometime before 9:45 a.m. Police said a woman was driving a Nissan Altima south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 27 and slammed into a truck head-on.
The woman was pronounced dead when emergency crews arrived at the scene. The man driving the truck sustained minor injuries.
Police shut down the northbound lanes of U.S. 27 from Stirling Road to Griffin Road while they investigated the wreck.
