News: Worker fatally struck by distracted driver in West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a worker was killed in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident took place on Southern Boulevard in suburban West Palm Beach at about 4 p.m., according to WPTV.
55-year-old Julio Angel Flores Figueroa was marking utilities in the roadway’s center median when he was hit by a Chevrolet Malibu. Investigators said the Malibu driver drifted to the left after becoming distracted and collided with the median, striking Figueroa.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries.
