News: Woman struck by hit-and-run driver while trying to retrieve mattress on I-95
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 95 Monday night.
According to WPEC, the incident happened on I-95 south near Boynton Beach Boulevard in Boynton Beach.
The woman was hit as she was trying to retrieve a mattress that had fallen off her car and landed in the middle of the highway. She was transported to Delray Medical Center, but her injuries were not regarded as life-threatening.
The FHP said the driver involved fled the scene following the crash. Witnesses said police were able to detain the driver on Boynton Beach Boulevard.
