News: Woman sentenced for accident that killed motorcyclist in Palm Beach County
GREENACRES, FL – A woman was sentenced to prison for a crash that killed a motorcycle rider in Greenacres.
WPEC reports 35-year-old Samantha Demaio was sentenced in Palm Beach Circuit Court to 10 years in prison for the February 2021 incident that caused the death of 54-year-old Andrew Bonhoure of Riviera Beach.
Authorities said Demaio rear-ended Bonhoure with her car as he rode his motorcycle in the area of South Jog Road and Summit Boulevard.
Demaio was reported to have pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges of vehicular homicide, DUI manslaughter and driving under the influence causing property damage or injury.
In her sentence, she was given credit for 413 days already served. She was ordered to pay restitution, fines and court costs.
