News: Woman riding bicycle struck and killed by vehicle in Weston
WESTON, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports it is investigating an accident that killed a bicycle rider in Weston on Sunday morning.
Deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to the 3200 block of Bonaventure Boulevard after the crash was reported shortly after 8 a.m. Investigators determined that a woman was riding south within the dedicated bicycle lane when her bicycle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Oion Skyvel Johnson of Syracuse, New York.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. She was identified as 44-year-old Sunny C. LaValle of Weston.
Johnson stayed at the scene and cooperated with crash investigators, the sheriff’s office said.
