News: Woman hospitalized after being struck by SUV at Miami Gardens shopping plaza
MIAMI, FL – A woman was hospitalized after she was hit by an SUV in Miami Gardens last week.
WSVN reports the victim was 64-year-old Joan Shiwgovind, who was struck at a shopping plaza in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 195th Street.
Last Thursday, a black Jaguar SUV crashed into L.C. Roti Shop restaurant at about 9:12 a.m., shortly after Shiwgovind had been dropped off there by her son. She was sitting on a ledge when the SUV hopped the curb, and ended up pinned against the building.
Rescue crews rushed the woman to Aventura Hospital, where she was being treated for multiple injuries to her stomach and legs.
Police had not yet released information regarding the driver of the vehicle on Friday night.
