News: Woman arrested after 4 pedestrians struck by car near Stuart grocery store
STUART, FL – Police in Stuart have announced an arrest in connection with a crash near a grocery store that left four pedestrians injured Tuesday afternoon.
According to WPTV, the four victims were hit by a vehicle at the Fresh Market on Southeast Ocean Boulevard just before 1 p.m.
Police said the driver struck the pedestrians deliberately and then fled the scene following the incident. The vehicle was later located and the suspected driver, identified as 31-year-old Beatrice Bijoix, was arrested on Tuesday. She faces several charges, including four counts of attempted murder, and was being held at the Martin County Jail.
One of the pedestrians was hospitalized at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center but was not believed to be seriously injured. The other three suffered minor injuries and did not have to go to the hospital.
