News: Victim of Hollywood crash identified as 22-year-old woman
HOLLYWOOD, FL – One of the victims of a deadly crash in Hollywood early Sunday morning has been identified, according to WSVN.
This is an update to a previous story.
Aurelio Alvarez told reporters that his daughter, 22-year-old Julia Alvarez, was one of the two people killed in the wreck in the area of Johnson Street and North 32nd Avenue. The other victim was identified by friends as Eric Saputo.
Investigators said the driver of a Dodge Viper was headed west on Johnson Street at about 3 a.m. when the car went off the road and slammed into a tree. The vehicle split in two, with the front end going through the fence of a home and the rear ending up in the road.
The crash occurred less than a mile from Julia Alvarez’s home. Alvarez said the two were on the way back from a memorial service for a friend.
Hollywood police are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
