News: Victim of crash at South Beach dining area identified as NY chiropractor
MIAMI, FL – The victim of a car accident at a South Beach restaurant last Thursday evening has been identified, according to WPLG.
This is an update to a previous story.
One person died and six others were injured when the driver of a Bentley struck an outdoor dining area at Call Me Gaby on Washington Avenue. The man killed in the crash was 67-year-old Gary Prince, a chiropractor from New York.
Police said an elderly woman was trying to parallel park her car and accelerated onto the outdoor cafe, hitting a group of people sitting outside. An investigation into the crash is ongoing, though it is not suspected that the driver was under the influence.
According to the New York Post, Gary Prince moved to Florida several years ago. He had coached a team in a New York City street basketball league, and worked with some of the New York Knicks players in his practice.
