News: Uber driver charged with fleeing scene of Miami Beach crash that injured scooter rider
MIAMI BEACH, FL – Police say they have charged an Uber driver in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Miami Beach Sunday morning.
WSVN reports 24-year-old Han Duran Nieves turned himself in Monday and was charged with fleeing the scene of a crash. Police say he struck a woman who was riding a stand-up scooter in the area of Alton Road and 10th Street at about 3 a.m., and then left the scene.
The woman was also hit by another vehicle after falling off the scooter. She was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
