News: SUV accident on Pine Tree Drive leaves 2 men dead
MIAMI BEACH, FL – Police say a crash involving a sport utility vehicle on Pine Tree Drive in Miami Beach left two people dead and two others injured, according to WPLG.
Investigators said the driver was headed south just after 5:40 a.m. and may have been trying to avoid a collision with another vehicle heading in the opposite direction that was making a turn.
The SUV crashed into a tree and caught fire. Two men inside the vehicle were killed, with one dying at the scene and the other pronounced dead later at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
Two women were taken to the same hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Pine Tree Drive was shut down in both directions between 30th and 34th Streets while the wreckage was being cleared away.
