News: Stolen vehicle slams into Fort Lauderdale apartment building
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A teenage driver was arrested Monday night after police say he crashed a stolen vehicle into a building in Fort Lauderdale.
According to WPLG, the 17-year-old was driving a BMW that was stolen in Hollywood when a police officer spotted the vehicle and began to follow it. Police say the driver sped into the parking lot of an apartment complex, jumped out of the car and fled the scene.
The car then struck a building in the complex, which is located at Northeast 5th Avenue and 13th Street. No one was injured in the incident.
The teen was later apprehended and now faces several charges, including grand theft of a vehicle, leaving the scene of a crash, and resisting an officer.
