News: State trooper nearly struck during crash on I-95 in Palm Beach County
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – A trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol managed to avoid being struck by an approaching vehicle during a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 Thursday, according to WPTV.
The incident occurred on I-95 near Hypoluxo Road in Palm Beach County at about 3:15 p.m., and was captured on video by a state police dashcam.
The FHP trooper had stopped along the interstate to help a driver who had a flat tire. At that time, the driver of a sedan collided with a pickup truck, which then sideswiped a second pickup.
The second pickup hit the disabled vehicle, but the trooper and the woman he was helping managed to jump out of the way in time to avoid being hit. The motorist sustained minor injuries, but the trooper was not hurt.
The FHP said the driver of the sedan left the scene and was last seen going north on I-95. Anyone with further information on the crash was asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
