News: Semi-truck and car catch fire following collision in Miami Gardens
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Police and firefighters were on the scene of a fiery crash in Miami Gardens early Tuesday morning.
According to WSVN, a semi-truck carrying fish collided with a Nissan Maxima at Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 166th Street shortly before 4 a.m. Police said the vehicles were going in opposite directions on Northwest 27th Avenue and crashed when the truck made a turn into a parking lot.
Both vehicles went up in flames, which were extinguished by Miami-Dade firefighters. Both drivers were able to escape with injuries that were not life-threatening, though one of the drivers was hospitalized.
A stretch of Northwest 27th Avenue was shut down for the crash investigation.
