News: Search underway for driver involved in Greenacres hit-and-run crash
GREENACRES, FL – Authorities are searching for the driver who struck and killed a bicyclist in Palm Beach County last week and then fled the scene.
According to WPTV, a 56-year-old man was riding his bicycle on the 5100 block of Lake Worth Road Thursday night at about 10:50 p.m. when he crossed into the path of a pickup truck and was hit. The bicyclist, identified as Efren Rocha of the Greenacres area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver drove away after the crash, continuing east on Lake Worth Road.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle they are searching for is a gold or silver 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with an extended cab that has a side-step that can be used to get into the truck bed.
