News: Search for driver who left scene after hitting motorcycle on I-95
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A search is underway for a driver who left the scene after hitting a couple on a motorcycle in Fort Lauderdale last month, WPLG reports.
The incident happened Feb. 27 on Interstate 95 at about 10 p.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said Rick Reilly and his girlfriend, whose identity is being kept anonymous, were riding on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle when they were struck from behind by a vehicle.
The man and woman were both ejected from the bike. They were treated at a hospital and released, and are expected to fully recover.
The driver involved did not stop after the crash, and is now being sought by law enforcement authorities. State troopers believe the vehicle may have been a black Volkswagen Jetta or something similar. Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact Florida Highway Patrol or Broward Crime Stoppers.
