News: Scooter rider struck by hit-and-run driver in North Bay Village
NORTH BAY VILLAGE, FL – A man riding a scooter was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in North Bay Village, reports WSVN.
The incident, which was captured on dashcam video, happened Sunday morning on a bridge in the area of Northeast 79th Street and East Treasure Drive.
The driver of a Ford Mustang was going at high speed at about 10 a.m. when the vehicle changed lanes, hit the scooter rider, and did not stop.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, but details on his condition were not released.
A search is now underway for the Mustang and the driver. The car being sought is missing the left front bumper and the splash shield underneath, police said.
