News: Police investigating crash that killed cyclist on Broward County bridge
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A bicyclist died after a crash on a bridge in Fort Lauderdale over the weekend, according to a report by WPLG.
Police responded to the scene on the Avenue of the Arts Bridge near west Las Olas Boulevard after the accident occurred Saturday shortly after 4 a.m.
Investigators determined that a person riding a bicycle was struck by a car. The victim, whose identity was not released, was declared dead at the scene.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene following the incident and was cooperative with detectives.
An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the collision and whether any other vehicles were involved. Anyone with further information about what happened was asked to contact Fort Lauderdale police.
