News: Pickup driver dies after being hit by box truck on Palmetto Expressway
MEDLEY, FL – A driver was struck and killed after his pickup truck broke down in Miami-Dade County last weekend, reports WSVN.
The accident happened Saturday morning on the Palmetto Expressway in the area of Northwest 74th Street in Medley. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the victim got out of his pickup truck after it became disabled in the middle of the roadway at about 5:30 a.m.
At that point, he was hit by an oncoming box truck. The man was pronounced dead after being taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
The northbound lanes of the Palmetto were closed at Northwest 58th Street for the crash investigation.
