News: Pickup and Amazon truck involved in fatal wreck on Gratigny Parkway
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – A driver was killed when his vehicle was involved in a wrong-way accident in Miami-Dade County early Friday morning, authorities said.
According to WPLG, the incident happened in the westbound lanes of the Gratigny Parkway near the Palmetto Expressway at about 5:20 a.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Dodge pickup truck was going the wrong way on the exit ramp to the Palmetto Expressway and crashed into an Amazon tractor-trailer head-on as the truck was trying to exit onto the roadway.
The Dodge driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
The FHP is investigating the wreck, which shut down the Palmetto exit ramp.
