News: Pedestrian struck, killed by Brightline train in Palm Beach County
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – A pedestrian died after being struck by a Brightline train in Palm Beach County on Wednesday morning, reports WPTV.
The incident occurred on the railroad tracks in the area of 10th Avenue North and North G Street in Lake Worth Beach at about 9 a.m.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, a man stood between the northbound and southbound tracks and was hit by an oncoming train. The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was the latest in a series of fatal incidents involving Brightline trains in South Florida that have prompted officials to take additional safety measures, as WPLG reports.
