News: Pedestrian struck and killed by Brightline train in North Miami Beach
NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL – An intersection in North Miami Beach was shut down Tuesday morning after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train, reports the Miami Herald.
Police said the victim was hit by a Brightline high-speed train on the tracks in the area of Northeast 163rd Street and Biscayne Boulevard, in an incident that was reported shortly after 9 a.m. The pedestrian, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lanes were blocked off to traffic while investigators processed the scene, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
