News: Pedestrian fatally struck by hit-and-run driver on West Davie Boulevard
FORT LAUDERDALE – Police are searching for a driver who left the scene after hitting and killing a pedestrian in Fort Lauderdale Monday night.
NBC Miami reports the victim was 35-year-old Lamercie Morency, who was trying to cross the street on West Davie Boulevard near 36th Avenue when she was struck by a black Dodge Charger shortly before 9:30 p.m.
According to investigators, the driver took off without stopping to render any kind of aid to the victim. Police say the vehicle they are now looking for is believed to have significant damage to the front end and windshield.
Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact Fort Lauderdale Police or Broward Crime Stoppers.
