News: Pedestrian dies after being hit by SUV in Tamarac
TAMARAC, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports a pedestrian struck by an SUV in Tamarac earlier this month has died of his injuries.
The victim was identified as 52-year-old Timothy Ingram. The accident occurred as he was crossing North University Drive eastbound on March 21 at about 3:13 p.m.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ingram was struck by a Toyota C-HR 4-door SUV that was going south on North University Drive. Investigators said Ingram was crossing in an area not designated for crossing when he was hit. The victim was airlifted to the trauma unit at Broward Health North, where he passed away on Monday evening.
The driver of the Toyota told detectives he noticed Ingram crossing after the vehicle in front of his vehicle swerved abruptly into the middle lane.
The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation into the accident.
