News: Pedestrian struck and killed by dump truck in Fort Pierce
FORT PIERCE, FL – Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was hit by a dump truck in Fort Pierce Monday morning.
According to WPTV, the victim was crossing a street in the area of Oleander Avenue and Edwards Road when the accident occurred at about 7:10 a.m.
Investigators determined that the driver of the dump truck was making a turn onto Edwards Road when it struck the pedestrian. The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Lucie County Fire Rescue.
The investigation is being conducted by the police department’s traffic homicide unit.
