News: Pedestrian dead after being struck by two vehicles in Little River hit-and-run
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – A pedestrian died after she was hit by two vehicles that both fled the scene in Little River, reports WPLG.
Miami police identified the victim as Ana Paulina Garcia, a woman in her late 60s. Investigators said she was hit by an SUV while she was crossing the street in the area of NW 1st Avenue and NW 79th Street. Garcia was then also struck by a second vehicle.
She was pronounced dead after being taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
Police are now searching for both drivers, who took off without stopping after hitting Garcia. The SUV was described as possibly a Toyota that was black or dark, with damage to the front grill and hood. No description was available for the second vehicle.
Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers. A reward of up to $5,000 was offered for information leading to an arrest.
