News: Pedestrian, 72, fatally struck by vehicle in Port St. Lucie
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Police in Port St. Lucie tweeted that they were at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the 2300 block of SE Charleston Drive at about 7:15 p.m. Police said a 72-year-old man was walking along the roadway and had turned to cross when he was hit from behind by a vehicle.
The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was transported by air rescue and was pronounced dead later at an area hospital. No details were disclosed about the driver or vehicle involved in the accident.
