News: Passenger dies after vehicles collide on State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes
LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports a passenger was killed when two vehicles collided in Lauderdale Lakes.
The accident occurred Sunday morning on North State Road 7 at about 6:13 a.m. Investigators said 53-year-old Serge Vernerette was driving a Honda Accord south when he turned into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe at Northwest 21st Street.
The vehicles collided in a T-bone type crash. A passenger in the Accord, 57-year-old Manel Vernerette of Sunrise, was pronounced dead at the scene. Serge Vernerette and the driver of the Tahoe, 33-year-old Jimmy Adrien of Coral Springs, were hospitalized.
Excessive speed and impairment were not believed to have been contributing factors in the crash, investigators said.
