News: Palmetto Expressway crash blamed on drag racers, reckless drivers
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – State troopers said a chain-reaction crash on the Palmetto Expressway was caused by drag racers and other drivers performing risky maneuvers, according to a report by WPLG.
At least ten vehicles were involved in the pileup Tuesday morning in the roadway’s eastbound lanes near Northwest 27th Avenue in Miami Gardens. The Florida Highway Patrol said it happened after a group formed a rolling roadblock so that drivers in front could do donuts.
Traffic behind them was forced to stop, resulting in the crash. No one was seriously injured.
The FHP said it is working with local law enforcement agencies and monitoring social media to try to curtail the continuing problem, State troopers urged any motorist who spots this kind of reckless behavior on the roadways to contact them.
