News: Multi-vehicle wreck on I-595 in Davie kills driver
DAVIE, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said three vehicles were involved in a deadly collision in Davie early Saturday morning.
According to WSVN, the accident took place on eastbound Interstate 595 near Davie Road at about about 5 a.m.
Two vehicles had stopped in the eastbound center lanes after they sideswiped, a pickup truck and a semi-truck towing a carnival ride. The driver of an eastbound van could not stop in time and hit the back of the semi. The van caught fire and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup driver sustained minor injuries, while the semi driver was not injured.
The FHP is investigating the wreck, which shut down the eastbound lanes of I-595 for about six hours. Traffic was diverted to State Road 84.
