News: Motorcycle rider killed in collision with pickup truck in Broward County
COOPER CITY, FL – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup truck Sunday evening, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office reported in a news release.
The accident took place in the area of Griffin Road and Southwest 118th Avenue in Cooper City at about 7:41 p.m. Investigators said 44-year-old Lawrence Bihl of Davie was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Griffin Road when he failed to stop at the light at the intersection with Southwest 118th Avenue.
Bihl crashed into the rear side of a Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at the light in the eastbound lanes due to the red traffic signal, the sheriff’s office said.
Bihl was pronounced dead after being transported to Memorial Regional Hospital. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, investigators said.
