News: Motorcycle rider, 21, killed in accident in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, FL – Detectives are investigating a recent accident that killed a motorcyclist in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
The BSO said it responded to the scene on the 600 block of East Copans Road shortly after 5:15 p.m. on June 12. According to investigators, 21-year-old Derrick Stone was driving a 2003 Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle eastbound when he entered a curve in the roadway and drifted towards the outside lane.
The motorcycle went through the bicycle lane and sideswiped a metal guardrail along the south side of the road.
Stone, a Wellington resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
