News: Margate woman dies after being struck by SUV in North Lauderdale
NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL – A Margate woman died after being struck by a vehicle in North Lauderdale Tuesday night, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
The accident took place at the intersection of Rock Island Road and Forest Boulevard shortly before 9 p.m. Investigators said 58-year-old Hossein Levene was crossing Rock Island Road from east to west when she was struck by a northbound 2020 Toyota Rav4 SUV driven by 65-year-old Rosita Creary. Levene was taken to Broward Health North, where she was pronounced dead.
The BSO said the vehicle was in the inside thru lane, and both northbound and southbound traffic had the green light at the time of the crash.
Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the incident and said they do not believe that excessive speed or impairment were contributing factors.
