News: Man parking car in Boynton Beach accidentally hits, kills woman
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – Police said a man struck and killed a woman with his car in an accident in Boynton Beach on Friday afternoon, WPTV reports.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, 82-year-old Howard Feilich was driving a Lexus and trying to back into his driveway on Coral Lakes Drive at about 4:30 p.m. when he mistakenly pressed on the accelerator instead of the brake.
Feilich struck 78-year-old Ilene Kesselhaut as she stood on the sidewalk next to the driveway, before the vehicle ended up in the driveway across from Feilich’s home.
Kesselhaut was pronounced dead after being taken to Delray Medical Center.
The sheriff’s office said the incident did not appear to have been intentional and that there were no signs of foul play. Investigators added that the driver and victim were related but did not provide further details on the relationship.
