News: Man in wheelchair struck by hit-and-run driver in SW Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – Police say a man in a wheelchair was hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Southwest Miami-Dade County Tuesday night.
WSVN reports the victim was hit by a van on U.S. 1 in the vicinity of Southwest 216th Street in the Goulds section at about 9 p.m.
He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but the extent of his injuries was not yet clear.
Police are now searching for the driver of the van, who kept going south on U.S. 1 following the crash. No description of the vehicle has been issued yet.
