News: Man found dead after motorcycle plunges into canal in Weston
WESTON, FL – The Broward Sheriff’s Office said its traffic homicide unit detectives are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in Weston.
Deputies along with divers and rescue teams responded to the scene Sunday morning at a canal on Bonaventure Boulevard at about 7:38 a.m. They pulled a man’s body from the water and pronounced him dead at the scene. A Can-Am Three – Wheel Motorcycle was also found in the canal.
An investigation determined that the operator of the motorcycle was headed north on Bonaventure Boulevard and failed to negotiate a turn as the roadway curved right.
The motorcycle crossed both southbound lanes, went across a sidewalk and grass shoulder, and struck a tree. The driver and motorcycle then plunged into the canal. The driver’s identity was not released.
